Dogsports by Aleksandra Wawrzyniak

Come for an individual training to a professionally equipped training space in Leiden, or choose for me to come give the training in your area in the Netherlands. In Dogfitness training, all the exercises are custom-designed for your dog based on their health, age, breed, and activities. We set fitness goals individually for your dog: whether they are puppies, in their top sport shape, unfit, elderly, post-injury, all of that is taken into account when I design the exercise plans.

Trainings for small groups (2-3 participants) from the same location and workshops (max. 10 people per workshop), for example at your local dog club in the Netherlands. In a workshop, we train individually for 30 mins per dog, and you can watch and learn from the training sessions of others as well. Group fitness trainings, where a group of 3-4 dogs train at the same time, are possible with dogs that already know the exercises.

How to properly communicate with your dog, how to read their language, how to prepare your dog mentally and physically for sport training: all of that we should learn together with our dog in order to teach easier or more complicated tricks, improve our quality of life together, and so that we can take a deep dive into a canine sport such as agility, obedience or dogfrisbee.

If we ask them to do sports, even once a week, or take them on a hiking trip in the mountains, we should take care of their physical preparation, otherwise the likelihood of injuries increases drastically. If they don’t do any sports or fitness exercises, they could potentially injure themselves even when playing with another dog.

Dogfitness is something every dog should do regularly: no matter age or physical condition. It’s custom-selected exercises, targeting specific physical goals, such as improving coordination (especially important in puppies and elderly dogs!), body awareness, strength of limbs and back, but also the relationship between the dog and their handler as well as your dog’s self-confidence.

“I was truly impressed by Aleksandra’s knowledge in and passion for dog fitness. I came to her with my Border Collie girl Nilay, who struggles with jumping and regeneration in agility. Aleksandra gave me a ton of really helpful exercises and information specifically for Nilay’s condition and I learned a lot in just one session. I really liked her calm way of training and the way she adjusts everything to the specific dog and team.
Would definitely recommend!”

“Aleksandra gaf met heel veel enthousiasme de workshop. Ze gaf elke deelnemer meer dan voldoende aandacht. Ook hield ze echt rekening met het lijf van de hond. Voordat de workshop begon analyseerde zij het lijf van de hond die de workshop ging doen; hoe flexibel is de hond, hoe sterk is de rug etc. Echt een workshop die voor herhaling vatbaar is.”
